AIC is hosting a Barbara Kruger retrospective (40 years) that I‘d love to see. She‘a been using text over images to disrupt voyeurism, question accelerating consumption and demand we think about the role of female bodies as producers or products of art, and now she’s spatializing these concerns adding aural layers, copies of her own texts, and the speed of replication of our own images in a ‘selfie’ exhibit that has people taking their own selfies whole surveillance cameras record them and project *those* images elsewhere in the museum.

It’s a timely intervention - the article in my own Google Newsfeed before it was how to invest my cryptocurrency in metaverse index funds.
